HIKING RINCON VIEJA PARK

One of the many national parks of Costa Rica, Rincon de la Vieja National Park was created to protect the biodiversity around raw Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. The park extends almost 3500 acres of semi-deciduous forest and includes a barren rocky terrain at altitudes that range from 1,950 to 5,748 feet above sea level on the Caribbean and Pacific sides of the Guanacaste Volcanic Mountain Range.  Tours include a view of the geothermal wonders, waterfalls and an ancient forest that is home to spider monkeys, toucans and leaf-cutter ants.
