Rincon de la Vieja National Park was created to protect the biodiversity around the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. The park extends almost 3500 acres of semi-deciduous forest and includes a barren rocky terrain at altitudes that range from 1,950 to 5,748 feet above sea level.

 

Tours include a view of the geothermal wonders, waterfalls and an ancient forest that is home to spider monkeys, toucans and leaf-cutter ants.
